A Personal Appeal to Wikimedia Founder Jimmy Wales
[edit]Dear Jim,
You have gotta be out of your mind. I'm never, ever going to give a goddamn dime to this house of cards. Every intricately wrought jewel of correctness I have ever placed here was undone by someone whose ego rides on their self-appointed ability to make some page their own personal crusade. Every page is the lowest common denominator of its field, whittled down to that way over time just like pebbles in a stream. Every "citation" just somebody else's web page anyway.
It's truly a sandcastle, and your offer doesn't even include a deed. The notion that I would give real money to a million idiot crusaders with a million different chips on their shoulders is insane and insulting. I have had enough of being helpful.
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Luaforge.net logo.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Luaforge.net logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. What do you think?
[edit]What do you think of this: User:Mike92591/draft. I'm starting to have second thoughts about it. What do you suggest? Mike92591 01:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IUP-screenshot.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IUP-screenshot.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
OpenVPN infrastructure
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article OpenVPN infrastructure, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of OpenVPN infrastructure. KurtRaschke (talk) 22:51, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Eta Kappa Nu logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Eta Kappa Nu logo.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Special file system
[edit]A tag has been placed on Special file system requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 21:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Sputnik-screenshot.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sputnik-screenshot.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Sea Shepherd article
[edit]I don't want to get into a full edit war, so that is the last reversion that I'm doing. Please do not change the method back to Terrorism before discussing the issue on the talk page of the article and seeing that a consensus is reached. So far, there has not been a consensus to flatly label SSCS as a terrorist organization. Djk3 (talk) 16:29, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and my edit summary got cut off. It's unsurprising that the people whose actions SSCS opposes say negative things about them, and we can't take their words as support for the label. The laws do not support the label either, unless SSCS is convicted of breaking those laws. Finally, the label of "terrorism" is very different from the label of "eco-terrorism," at the very least in connotation, and any claims that SSCS is an eco-terrorist organization should go into the body of the article and be very well supported before SSCS is flatly labeled a "terrorist" organization in the infobox. There is currently one such claim in the article, but I think that it needs much more support before definitively labeling SSCS as a terrorist organization. Djk3 (talk) 16:36, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Sputnik (software)
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Sputnik (software). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sputnik (software). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:17, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
